Destination Engagement Photography – Paddy Field, Ubud, Bali

In May 2017 I went on another travel adventure. This time my curiosity and my restlessness took me to Indonesia. I hopped over 3 Islands there : Bali , Lombok and Gili Air. All of them very unique and all of them beautiful. As much as I love photography I am also a Yoga lover and this trip was with emphasis on that subject. While on the trip I practiced yoga almost every day, most of the time even twice a day. It was easy to find yoga schools, barns, shalas everywhere in Indonesia but the place I found super special was a Shanti Toya Ashram close to Ubud in Bali. It was a budget yoga retreat packed with backpackers and and interesting people of all ages and from all corners of the world. And while being there I met this awesome Hungarian Couple – Andi and Csaba, that asked me to take some of their engagement/maternity photos. Andi was 5 months pregnant while on the trip :))) Ubud area can be a little tricky weather wise. It is not always sunny and rains can occur more often than in other Bali regions. And unfortunately we didn’t have much luck getting the usual sun. It was raining all night and morning. But we kept our spirits high. We didn’t have to venture far for perfect scenery. Shanti Toya is located in between rice paddies so we took the engagement photos while wondering around our Ashram. Those straw cone hats are mostly associated with Vietnam they are also immensely popular along the Balinese rice farmers. So we got a pair of those and used as a props for the Destination Engagement Photography – Paddy Field, Ubud, Bali. I also incorporated the most recognized symbol of Bali into the couple photo shoot – Plumeria flowers. The Plumeria garlands are given upon welcoming people. The flowers grow high on the trees that grow almost everywhere – most definitely outside every single House in Bali.
